Mesa 9, Glendale 7
The balls were flying out of Sloan Park and Matt Mervisand Zack Gelof accounted for nearly all of them. Mervis, the 21st-ranked Cubs prospect, left the yard twice and Gelof, the No. 3 A's prospect, also notched a multihomer night. Mervis was first-pitch hunting in the third, walloping a solo homer deep beyond the Glendale bullpen in right field. He worked the count even in the seventh before unloading on a game-tying two-run shot to right-center. Gelof swatted two solo jacks -- his first home runs of the fall campaign -- knotting the game in the fifth before adding an insurance run in the eighth. For the Desert Dogs, No. 18 Reds prospect Rece Hinds belted his first career grand slam in the first. It was his second long ball of the Fall League. More »

Salt River 7, Peoria 6
A day after the Rafters earned their first win, Jordan Lawlar helped lead Salt River to another win in the seven-inning contest. MLB’s No. 12 overall prospect collected three hits, an RBI and a stolen base, but no hit was bigger than the triple the Arizona prospect roped to lead off the bottom of the final frame with his team down by a run. Two batters later, Rockies prospect Braxton Fulford ripped a walkoff double for the club’s second consecutive win. Top Rockies prospect Zac Veen (MLB No. 23) chipped in a pair RBIs for the Rafters. Guardians catcher David Fry led the way offensively for Peoria, tallying four RBIs and three hits. More »

Scottsdale 14, Surprise 8
The Scorpions used a six-run top of the ninth to hand the Saguaros their second loss of the season, and Cal Conley was a huge part of it. The No. 12 Braves prospect reached base four times via a triple, a single and two walks while driving in three runs and stealing a base. No. 9 Orioles prospect Heston Kjerstad clubbed his third AFL homer as part of a three-hit, four-RBI afternoon, moving him into a tie with Astros prospect Will Wagner for the most extra-base hits on the circuit with seven. Boston's Stephen Scott added three RBIs for Scottsdale while No. 5 Pirates prospect (MLB No. 93) Nick Gonzales, Houston's Scott Schreiber and Kansas City's John Rave plated two runs apiece for Surprise.
