Salt River 9, Scottsdale 1
After losing eight straight to open the Fall League campaign, the Rafters have won five of their last six and none by a bigger margin than their latest convincing victory. No. 2 Cardinals prospect Masyn Winn connected on his first home run of the AFL to get the offense rolling in the third inning. Salt River led by just two entering the bottom of the eighth, but the team put eight straight men on base to open the frame and pushed across six runs to push the game out of reach. Peter Lambert (Rockies) struck out five over three perfect frames to open the night and the entire Rafters pitching staff combined to fan 16 while allowing just two hits. More »

Surprise 6, Peoria 2
No. 16 Royals prospect T.J. Sikkema was hard to hit in his final Fall League outing, striking out six while allowing just an unearned run in four innings. The Saguaros bullpen was strong behind him, combining to allow three hits and another unearned run over the final five frames. Surprise received home runs from No. 5 Pirates prospect Nick Gonzales and No. 17 Phillies prospect Jhailyn Ortiz, the latter coming after Ortiz' organization-mate Johan Rojas, Philadelphia's No. 5 prospect, doubled in a run. Seven different Javelinas collected one hit each and Amos Willingham (Nationals) struck out five in two relief frames in the loss. More »

Mesa 6, Glendale 3
Lawrence Butler has gotten off to a fast start in the fall, and he added two hits and three RBIs to help lift Mesa over Glendale. The Athletics’ No. 14 prospect got the scoring started early with a triple, driving in Mason Auer after the Rays' No. 12 prospect led off the contest with a double. Butler took advantage of more runners in scoring position in the third frame, ripping a two-RBI single up the middle to give the Solar Sox a four-run cushion. An RBI groundout from Moises Castillo (White Sox), a balk and an RBI single by Zavier Warren (Brewers) got the Desert Dogs within a run in the sixth, but a ninth-inning two-run dinger from Ronny Simon (Rays), his third of the AFL campaign, gave Mesa insurance en route to its seventh victory.
