De Jesus Ties Single-Season Dust Devils HR Record

The rightly slugger’s 17th home run of 2026 came off Eugene starter Jacob Bresnahan (5-2) with two outs in the top of the 4th, a crushed line drive that hooked over the wall into the batting cage storage area. The longball made it a 2-1 game at the time, halving the team’s deficit. Bresnahan otherwise controlled the Tri-City attack, allowing only three hits and a walk outside of the solo shot.
Dust Devils starter Peyton Olejnik (4-7) put together a streak of nine in a row retired from the end of the 2nd to two outs in the 5th, striking out five but giving up five runs in receiving the loss. Reliever Keythel Key took over for the long, tall righty in the 6th and struck out both batters he faced to keep it a then 5-1 game.
Runs kept piling up on the Emeralds’ side of the ledger, with a 6-run 8th inning putting the game on ice.
De Jesus then came up as the leadoff man in the top of the 9th and sent a high fly deep to center and off the batter’s eye for his second longball of the night. The blast, his 18th of the season, closed the scoring for the evening.
DUST DEVILS NOTES
-Randy De Jesus has now put together two multi-home runs games for the Dust Devils in 2026. C Juan Flores and OF Anthony Scull both had two multi-HR games before their promotion to Double-A Rocket City, and 1B Ryan Nicholson has one this season.
-Tri-City will need to win the final three games of the series to grab a road split. The team has done this once before in 2026: at Vancouver April 24-26.
-The Northwest League Thursday saw the Hillsboro Hops bounce back to blow out the Everett AquaSox 13-3 at Hops Ballpark and get their first win of the week. In Vancouver the Spokane Indians rallied for five runs in the top of the 9th to stun the Canadians 9-7 at Rogers Field at Nat Bailey Stadium. The Dust Devils remain five games back in the Second Half race coming in to Friday’s action.
CLOSING OUT JULY
Tri-City and Eugene gather for game four of their six-game series at 6:35 p.m. Friday night at PK Park. Right-hander Jose Atencio (1-3, 3.09 ERA) goes for his second straight win on the mound for the Dust Devils, while righty Niko Mazza (6-4, 3.38 ERA) gets the nod for the Emeralds.
