BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The Barons committed four errors in the loss on Wednesday night, and the Pensacola Blue Wahoos took advantage of the mistakes in a decisive 7-0 victory at Regions Field. Starting pitcher Spencer Adams took his 11th loss of the season as the righty allowed three runs (two of them earned) on seven hits while walking one and striking out two.

Pensacola got the scoring started off Adams in the top of the second inning when Joe Hudson doubled to left field to drive in Shed Long from first base.
The Barons deficit remained at two until the Blue Wahoos led off the sixth inning with a pair of singles, and a throwing error from Birmingham catcher Alfredo Gonzalez attempting to pick a runner off at first base allowed the third Pensacola run of the game to score.
Three more Pensacola runs came across in their half of the seventh inning. With Thaddius Lowry on the mound, the Blue Wahoos loaded the bases for their top hitter Nick Senzel . The third baseman delivered a two run single to right field to put the road side up by five. Senzel stole second base and the throw got away from Barons second baseman Danny Mendick that allowed another run to score and Pensacola lead 6-0 after seven innings.
In the eighth, Shed Long reached on a fielding error from Drew Hasler and was brought around to score the seventh run of the game for Pensacola on a Brian O'Grady RBI single to right field. The score remained at 7-0 when the game was final, and Birmingham moved to 42-66 on the year.
