SALISBURY, MD - After continuing his dominance and picking up a personal milestone, the Delmarva Shorebirds are pleased to announce that left-handed pitcher DL Hall has repeated as South Atlantic League Pitcher of the Week, winning once again for the week of July 9-15.
The 19-year-old from Warner Robins, Georgia earned the first win of his professional career on July 11 at Charleston. Hall went a career-long six scoreless innings, allowing just a pair of singles with no walks and striking out eight RiverDogs, also a career high. The southpaw's dominance anchored a 6-0 shutout, finished off by teammates Alex Katz and Nick Vespi.
Through 15 appearances (13 starts) this season, Hall's ERA stands at 2.54, the best of Delmarva's starting pitchers who have been with the club since Opening Day; with enough innings to qualify, it would be the seventh-best ERA in the SAL. He has walked 29 and struck out 57 over his 60.1 innings.
Hall currently boasts a 15.2-inning scoreless streak dating back to his June 30 start at Lakewood. He has not given up an earned run over 22.2 innings since June 15.
The Orioles drafted Hall 21st overall out of Valdosta High School (Ga.) in the 2017 MLB Draft. He currently ranks as Baltimore's No. 4 prospect, per MLB Pipeline.
This is the second career honor weekly honor for Hall after last week's recognition. He becomes the first Sally Leaguer this season to repeat as either Player or Pitcher of the Week.
