Four Dragons pitchers combined to scatter eight hits and avoid any big innings. Cory Thompson (2-1), the third Dayton pitcher of the night, worked two scoreless innings to earn the victory. John Ghyzel pitched a scoreless ninth inning for his seventh save.
Great Lakes opened the scoring with a single run in the top of the fifth inning before the Dragons took the lead in the bottom of the fifth.
