North Little Rock, AR-A pitchers duel through seven innings turned in the Tulsa Drillers favor as they capitalized on a four-run eighth inning to knock off the Arkansas Travelers, 6-4 on Thursday night at Dickey-Stephens Park. Tulsa scored four times in the top of the eighth and held off two Trav threats to close out the game. Arkansas' loss coupled with Springfield's win drops the Travs into a tie for first place atop the division with 11 games remaining. Both team's starters threw the ball well but did not factor in the decisions. Mitchell White tossed five innings of one-run ball for the Drillers while Chase De Jong pitched six innings and gave up just one tally for the Travs.
Moments That Mattered
* Each team scored in the first but Arkansas missed a chance for more by stranding two runners.
* Tulsa took the lead in the eighth on Keibert Ruiz's RBI hit and then D.J. Peters followed with a three-run homer.
* Arkansas got on back in the bottom of the eighth on Joe DeCarlo's RBI single but left the bases loaded.
* In the bottom of the ninth, the Travs got two and had the tying run at home plate with one out but Corey Copping got the final two outs with neither reaching base.
