North Little Rock, AR-The Arkansas Travelers put together an all-around effort to win the series finale over Northwest Arkansas 7-3 on Thursday night at Dickey-Stephens Park.
               The Travs' offense broke out with seven runs over the opening four innings including multi-run efforts in the first, second and fourth frames. Ian Miller walked to get the game started then Gianfranco Wawoe followed with a bunt base hit. Chuck Taylor then lined a single to right-center to extend his hitting streak to a Texas League season high 20 games. Miller would score on the hit as the ball was bobbled by the centerfielder. Kyle Waldrop then followed with an RBI hit on the very next pitch.
               In the second inning, Waldrop was the hero again as he drove home a pair, Miller and Wawoe with a two out, two run single up the middle. They would tally again in the third as Wawoe delivered the two RBI hit. In the fourth, Arkansas scored on a solo homer from Kyle Waldrop (#5) and Tyler Marlette raced home on a passed ball after hitting a ground-rule double to right-center. Waldrop finished the game 3-5 with the homer and four runs batted in.
               Meanwhile, on the mound, Tyler Herb was dominant tonight for the Travs. The right-hander evened his record at 2-2 pitching seven innings for the victory. He did not allow a runner until there was one out in the third and he finished the contest with seven strikeouts while not walking anyone and allowing only a single run. Blake Perry and Ryan Horstman closed it out, each notching three strikeouts. For the game, Travelers pitchers recorded 13 strikeouts without a walk. Naturals starter Corey Ray (3-3) lasted only three innings and was tagged with the loss.
               The Travs hit the road for the start of a four game series in Tulsa tomorrow night. First pitch against the Drillers is set for 7:05 p.m. with right-hander Brett Ash (2-2, 4.63) set to go for Arkansas opposing righty Ivan Vieitez (1-2, 2.93) for Tulsa.
