Powered by an eight-run first inning, the Biloxi Shuckers (30-30) put on one of their most impressive offensive displays of the season as they topped the Chattanooga Lookouts (31-31) 15-3 on Saturday night at AT&T Field. Biloxi pounded out 18 hits in the game, a new season high.

The Shuckers got off to a perfect start in the top of the first inning. Sal Frelick singled inside of third and Joey Wiemer followed with a two-run blast to left, his 14th of the year, to give Biloxi a 2-0 lead two batters into the ballgame. Pedro Severino then singled, and after a strikeout by LHP Andrew Abbott (L, 4-2), Thomas Dillard doubled to put two men in scoring position. Felix Valerio drove in both runners on a triple to left, moving the Shuckers ahead 4-0. Tristen Lutz roped a single into center field to plate Valerio and Devanney followed with a sharp single to center as well, the seventh hit in the inning for the Shuckers. Frelick drove home Lutz on a double to left and Severino finished the scoring in the first with a two-RBI single, capping the inning at 8-0.

Biloxi continued to add on in the top of the fourth inning. Severino began the frame with a single through the left side and motored around to third on a double from Jakson Reetz. A passed ball allowed Severino to score from third and Dillard sent Reetz home on a sacrifice fly, putting the Shuckers up 10-0. Three consecutive walks reloaded the bases, and a wild pitch brought in another run, pushing the Shuckers up 11-0.

On the mound, RHP T.J. Shook (W, 2-0) took the lead and ran with it. The righty allowed just one run on a solo home run in the home half of the fourth but struck out seven and held the Lookouts to five hits over six frames.

The hits kept coming for Biloxi in the fifth. Wiemer led off the inning with a single to left and Severino followed with a single, his fourth hit of the day, putting two men on base. After a pair of outs, Valerio worked a walk to load the bases and Noah Campbell drove in a pair on a single to left, making it 13-1 Biloxi.

RHP Taylor Floyd covered a pair of innings for the Shuckers, allowing two total runs between the seventh and eighth inning. Biloxi claimed back those two runs in the top of the ninth inning when Frelick and Wiemer singled and both runs scored on a single by Reetz, vaulting the Shuckers back ahead 15-3. RHP J.T. Hintzen tossed a scoreless ninth inning to close out the game for Biloxi.

Seeking a fifth consecutive victory, the Shuckers close out their six-game series with the Lookouts on Sunday afternoon. LHP Brandon Knarr (0-0, 6.30) takes the hill in the finale for Biloxi against Chattanooga LHP Brandon Williamson (5-2, 4.06) for a 1:15 PM CDT first pitch.
