ERIE, Pa---Erie started off the doubleheader with their second straight consecutive shutout win, silencing the Senators 1-0.
Ross Kivett smoked his first home run in AA off of Harrisburg starter Derek Eitel to lead off the third inning. The lone run in the contest comes nearly a week after Kivett was called up from Class-A Lakeland.
The SeaWolves had plenty of chances to add a few more runs to the score. Erie had the bases loaded with one out twice in the game, but Eitel was able to work out of each jam. The 'Wolves left nine on base despite getting the victory.
Myles Jaye's superb start on the mound allowed him to pick up his first win on the season. The 25-year-old righty pitched the complete seven-inning contest, only allowing three hits and one walk while striking out four. This first win for Jaye comes in his tenth start in 2017.
Eitel (1-2) allowed eight hits in six innings but managed to strike out the SeaWolves eight times in the loss.
