ROUND ROCK, Texas – Round Rock Express INF/OF Cam Cauley was named the Pacific Coast League Player of the Week for August 17-23, as announced by Minor League Baseball on Monday afternoon. Cauley is the first Express player to win Player of the Week this year. Round Rock has won a weekly award for three consecutive weeks with LHP Dalton Pence (August 3-9) and RHP David Davalillo (August 10-16) winning PCL Pitcher of the Week each of the last two weeks.
In six games last week, Cauley slashed .407 (11-27)/.469/.963/1.432 with three doubles, four home runs, 10 RBI, 11 runs scored, four walks, four strikeouts and four stolen bases. He led the PCL in home runs, RBI and runs scored last week. Over the six games, Cauley made starts at five different positions (2B, SS, 3B, CF, LF) and did not make an error.
On August 19 in El Paso, he went 4-for-5 with two home runs, six RBI and four runs scored and led Round Rock to a 14-2 win over El Paso. Hi six RBI were a season high. Cauley’s multi-home run game was his first since he hit two home runs on September 14, 2025 with Double-A Frisco.
Cauley improved to 34-for-34 on stolen base attempts. He is 16 stolen bases away from tying the Express Triple-A record for stolen bases in a single-season (2022, Bubba Thompson). Since 2005, there has never been a player in Triple-A to steal 34 bases or more without being caught and there have been only two players in Minor League Baseball to accomplish the feat.
The Mont Belvieu, Texas native was a third-round selection by the Texas Rangers in 2021 out of Barbers Hill High School where he won the 2021 UIL High School State Championship at Dell Diamond. He made his Major League debut for Texas on June 29 against the Cleveland Guardians and was optioned to Round Rock on August 14.
The Express return home for a 12-game homestand against the Albuquerque Isotopes (Colorado Rockies affiliate) and Oklahoma City Comets (Los Angeles Dodgers affiliate) from Tuesday, August 25-Sunday, September 6.
