Indianapolis, IN (August 13, 2017) - The Syracuse Chiefs dropped the final game of a four-game series to the Indianapolis Indians, 2-0, Sunday afternoon at Victory Field, completing the Indians' four-game sweep. Erick Fedde was quite strong for the Chiefs, allowing just two runs in seven innings. But Clay Holmes was even better, throwing five innings of no-hit ball with just one walk, before Tyler Eppler and Edgar Santana shut the door on a combined two-hitter for the Indians.

Indianapolis (67-43) grabbed the only two runs of the game off Fedde in the fourth inning. Edwin Espinal doubled down the left-field line to lead off the inning and then Jacob Stallings singled to put runners on first and third with no-one out. After a strikeout, Erich Weiss doubled to score Espinal for a 1-0 lead. Eric Wood followed with a sacrifice fly to plate Stallings for a 2-0 lead for Indianapolis.
Syracuse (45-76) couldn't solve the Indianapolis pitching staff, which held the Chiefs to just two hits, both by Bengie González.
Syracuse is off on Monday before opening a six-game homestand, starting with a three-game series against the Durham Bulls Tuesday night at 6:35 p.m. at NBT Bank Stadium. RHP Jaron Long is scheduled to start for the Chiefs opposite RHP Yonny Chirinos for the Bulls.
