Jose Santiago collected four strikeouts in the first two innings before giving up a homerun to JB Moss in the third inning, giving the Hawks the lead, 1-0. Boise snuck in another run in the fourth when Ryan Metzler scored on a Frog fielding error, 2-0.
Joseph Rosa started the rally for the Frogs in the bottom half of the fifth with a solo shot to left center field, 2-1. The Sox stole the lead when Nick Kennedy gave up his second walk of the night to Eugene Helder and Johnny Adams cleared the bases with a two-run home run, 3-2. Onil Pena proceeded to double in the next at bat of the fifth inning. Northwest League Player of the Week David Banuelos joined the party with his own two-run home run giving the Sox a 5-2 lead.
Boise collected their third run in the sixth before Michael Rivera took over on the mound. The Sox gathered four more runs in the bottom half of the inning on a Ronald Rosario double, Adams single and a Pena double, 9-3.
Fabian Roman relieved Rivera in the eighth giving up one run in the eighth. Paul Covelle would replace Roman in the inning and surrender a three-run home run hit by Bret Boswell, 9-8. The Sox would storm back in the bottom of the eighth scoring four more runs and extending their lead, 13-8.
Covelle allowed one hit while striking out one Hawk in the ninth to earn his first save of the season.
