Fire Frogs Close Out Home Schedule With Victory Over Flying Tigers

KISSIMMEE, Fla. (Aug. 26, 2018) - The Florida Fire Frogs closed out their 2018 home schedule with a 4-3 victory over the Lakeland Flying Tigers on Sunday afternoon at Osceola County Stadium. The Atlanta Braves affiliate finished the season with a 21-38 mark at home during its second season, and is 46-72 overall.
Florida (21-38, 50-75) started the scoring with a three-run rally in the fourth inning.
Brandon White (SV, 2) allowed two runs in the ninth with two outs, but picked up his second save as a Fire Frog by retiring AJ Simcox on a popout to second to end the game.
The Fire Frogs pushed the Flying Tigers 4.5 games out of first place behind the Clearwater Threshers with eight games remaining at the conclusion of the match in Kissimmee.
Florida will take to the road for the final road trip of the season to start a four-game set at George M. Steinbrenner Field against the Tampa Tarpons beginning Monday night. It has yet to be determined who will start for either side in the opener.
First pitch is scheduled for 6:30 p.m., with coverage starting at 6:15 p.m. with the Florida Fire Frogs Pre-game Show on the Florida Fire Frogs Broadcasting Network.
