Reading, PA - The New Hampshire Fisher Cats were victimized by superb starting pitching for the second time on the road trip, as the 'Cats were held hitless until the seventh in a 7-2 loss against the Reading Fightin' Phils on Tuesday night.
Reading struck first in the opening frame. Scott Kingery singled, stole second and advanced to third on a fly out. Carlos Tocci brought him home with an RBI single to centerfield that made it 1-0 Fightin' Phils.
The Phillies affiliate added another two runs in the third. Kingery started the frame with a knock and scored when Andrew Pullin hit his sixth home run of 2017 to give Reading the 3-0 advantage. Reading would pad their lead in the sixth, adding two runs on three hits and a sacrifice fly to go up 6-0.

Fightin' Phils starter Tom Eshelman was excellent in his fifth outing of the season. The right-hander held the 'Cats hitless for the first six innings before giving up a lead-off triple to Tim Lopes to start the seventh. Lopes would score on a Richard Ureña groundout in the next at-bat to end the shutout and bring the tally to 6-1.
Reading put another run on the board in the seventh via a Jiandido Tromp homer and the Fisher Cats added a score in the ninth but fell 7-2.
The series wraps up Wednesday morning at FirstEnergy Stadium in Reading. Shane Dawson (1-2, 5.48 ERA) will oppose Drew Anderson (1-0, 8.59 ERA). First pitch is set for 11:35 a.m. and can be heard locally on AM 610 WGIR or online via iHeartRadio.
