MANCHESTER, N.H — The New Hampshire Fisher Cats, the Double-A affiliate of the Toronto Blue Jays, split the doubleheader to the Harrisburg Senators on Thursday night, losing the first game 2-1 and winning the second game 13-3.

Thursday’s game was rescheduled into a doubleheader after Tuesday’s series opener was postponed due to rain.

In the first game, Ricky Tiedemann (0-1) received the start for the Fisher Cats and pitched 3.2 innings, allowing three hits, two runs and one walk while striking out three, picking up his first loss of the season. The Blue Jays top prospect has now struck out 23 batters over 13.2 innings thrown, a K/9 of 15.7.

Trevor Schwecke drove in the lone run of the game with an RBI double to right-center, which was the first run scored in 15 innings by the Fisher Cats over the last three games.

Harrisburg left-hander Mitchell Parker (1-2) spun six strong innings, allowing just two hits, one run and one walk while striking out four, receiving the win.

In the second game, New Hampshire (11-13) set season-highs for runs (13) and hits (13) in a single game en route to a 13-3 win. The Fisher Cats scored eight runs in the first inning, the most runs scored in a single inning this season.

Damiano Palmegiani opened the scoring and drove in a run by reaching base for a 19th game in 21 games played with a bases loaded walk.

One batter later, Orelvis Martinez cleared the bases with a three-run triple off Harrisburg (11-12) starter Garvin Alston (0-2) into the left-centerfield gap for his first triple of the year and the first triple by a Fisher Cat this season. Martinez did not hit a triple all of 2022.

After singling in the first, Miguel Hiraldo came to bat again and doubled in three with a fly ball down the left-field line, extending the lead to 8-1 in the first. It was Hiraldo’s first three-RBI game at the Double-A level.

In the sixth, Martinez hit his team-leading fourth homer of the year, a two-run shot to end the night with five RBIs, his second five-RBI game at the Double-A level in his career. He leads the Fisher Cats with 15 runs batted in and it was his second 3+ RBI game of the year.

Every Fisher Cat in the starting lineup tallied at least one hit or run scored in the victory.

Leo Jimenez extended his on-base streak to 13 games after singling in both games of the doubleheader.

Throughout both games of the doubleheader, New Hampshire right-handers Andrew Bash, Luis Quinones, Parker Caracci (1-0) and Troy Watson all threw a combined 6.2 shutout innings of relief.

The Fisher Cats continue the home stand tomorrow against the Harrisburg Senators at 6:35 pm. RHP Adam Kloffenstein (1-2, 3.32 ERA) will get the start for New Hampshire against RHP Ronald Herrera (0-2, 4.82 ERA) for Harrisburg.
