Flying Squirrels announce 2027 home game schedule

RICHMOND, Va. – The Richmond Flying Squirrels will open their 2027 at CarMax Park on Friday, April 2 and play at home on Independence Day for the first time at CarMax Park, the team announced on Wednesday.

Full-Season Memberships for the 2027 season are on sale now at SquirrelsBaseball.com.

For the first time, the Flying Squirrels will play at CarMax Park on Independence Day, hosting the Akron RubberDucks on Sunday, July 4. It will be the team's first home game on the Fourth of July since 2024.

"There is no celebration in Richmond quite like the Fourth of July at the ballpark," said Flying Squirrels General Manager Anthony Oppermann. "From Parker Field to The Diamond and now CarMax Park, we couldn't be more excited to host a game on July 4 for the first time in our new home."

Game times for the 2027 season, promotions and information on individual game tickets will be announced at a later date.

The Flying Squirrels will open their 138-game season at CarMax Park on Friday, April 2 against the Altoona Curve, the first of their 69 home games for the year. All 16 home openers in Flying Squirrels history have sold out. The regular season runs through Sunday, Sept. 12.

In 2027, the Flying Squirrels will play six-game home series, with the exception of a three-game set against Altoona to open the season from April 2-4. Richmond’s full schedule with road games will be announced at a later date.
