Hartford, CT- Richmond first baseman Frankie Tostado had four hits, including two homers and 5 RBI, leading the Flying Squirrels to 10-9 victory against the Yard Goats on Friday night at Dunkin’ Donuts Park in Hartford. The Yard Goats battled back from a 7-0 deficit to tie the game at 8-8 in the sixth inning, and then took a 9-8 lead on Coco Montes’ league leading 22nd double in the seventh. Trailing by a run with two outs in the ninth, Tostado belted a two-run homer, giving Richmond a 10-9 lead. Willie Abreu had three hits and a home run for the Yard Goats.

Richmond scored four runs in the first inning off Hartford starter Karl Kauffmann. After a two-out walk, the Flying Squirrels collected five straight hits, including RBI singles by Sandro Fabian, Andres Angulo, and Shane Matheny. The Flying Squirrels added three more runs in the second highlighted by a two-run double by Frankie Tostado.

The Yard Goats got on the board in the second inning on Willie Abreu’s two-run homer off Richmond starter Akeel Morris. Sean Bouchard cranked a solo homer in the third inning to make it a 7-3 game and Abreu’s RBI single in the fourth inning made it 7-4. Tostado homered in the fifth to give Richmond an 8-4 edge.

The Yard Goats batted back to tie the game with four runs in the sixth inning. Abreu and Guerra each had RBI hits and the Yard Goats made it 8-7 on an interference call. Hartford then tied the game on a wild pitch as Abreu scored to make it 8-8.

Hartford took a 9-8 lead on an RBI double by Coco Montes, scoring Sean Bouchard in the seventh inning. The Yard Goats were three outs away for their second straight win but reliever Yoan Aybar walked the leadoff hitter before retiring the next two batters. Then Frankie Tostado hit a two-run homer to right field, giving Richmond a 10-9 lead.
