PEARL, MS – The Mississippi Braves (15-20) used the bottom part of their order to spark a rally and plate four runs in the seventh inning to defeat the Biloxi Shuckers (17-18) 6-4 on Wednesday night at Trustmark Park.

Entering the seventh inning, the Shuckers led 4-2 with RHP Carlos Luna (L, 0-3) entering his fourth inning of work out of the bullpen. The M-Braves rattled off four consecutive hits in the inning, including back-to-back doubles by Jacob Pearson and Logan Brown to start the inning. With the lead cut to one, Andrew Moritz singled through the right side of the infield to tie the game at four. With the lineup card flipping back over to the top, Michael Harris II doubled to deep left field to hand the M-Braves their first lead since the third inning. Harris would later score on a wild pitch by Robbie Hitt.

Biloxi threatened in the eighth inning. RHP Indigo Diaz (H, 2) walked the first two batters to bring the go-ahead run to the plate in Yeison Coca. Coca struck a sharp line drive into left center field that appeared would result in a hit. Harris raced into the alley and made a full extension grab to keep the score at 6-4. Diaz got out of the eighth inning unscathed, and RHP Tyler Ferguson (S, 1) struck out the side in the ninth inning to complete the comeback and down Biloxi 6-4. The Shuckers win streak is snapped at four games.

RHP Justin Bullock opened the game for Biloxi and tossed three innings. With two outs in the first inning, Jalen Miller doubled home two runs to get the M-Braves off to a 2-0 start. After a Brent Diaz RBI double in the second inning, Gabe Holt started the third inning off with a leadoff single. Two batters later, Felix Valerio doubled him home to tie the game at two. Right after Valerio’s double, Dillard doubled high off the wall in left field to score Valerio and give Biloxi their first lead at 3-2. The only other run in the game was a solo home run by Jakson Reetz off RHP A.J. Puckett (W, 1-3) to start the sixth inning. Reetz has now homered in four of his last five games.

RHP T.J. Shook (NR) makes his Double-A debut on Thursday night at Trustmark Park against the Mississippi Braves and the M-Braves will send RHP Freddy Tarnok (1-0, 3.55). First pitch is set for 6:35 PM and the game can be seen on MiLB.TV and heard locally on WGCM AM 1240/FM 100.9 or online here.
