Four SeaWolves Named EL All-Stars

The Erie SeaWolves, Double-A Affiliate of the Detroit Tigers, are pleased to announce that OF Jacob Robson, INF Will Maddox, RHP Beau Burrows and RHP Kyle Funkhouser have been named to the Western Division All-Star Team for the Eastern League All-Star Game on Wednesday, July 11 at ARM & HAMMER

JACOB ROBSON
Jacob Robson has been named an All-Star for the second time in his career. He was an All-Star in 2017 while playing for West Michigan. The outfielder was in his first season at the Double-A level and was recently promoted to Triple-A Toledo. In 67 games with the SeaWolves, Robson was hitting .286 with a career-high seven home runs. He was the team leader in hits (75), doubles (16), stolen bases (11) and tied for the team-lead with three triples. Robson is ranked as the #26 prospect in the Tigers organization according to MLB.com. The native of London, ON was originally selected by the Detroit Tigers in the eighth round of the 2016 draft out of Mississippi State University.
WILL MADDOX
Will Maddox has been named an All-Star for the second time in his career. He was a 2016 Midwest League All-Star while playing with West Michigan. Maddox is in his first full season at the Double-A level after playing in 17 games with Erie in 2017. In 49 games with the SeaWolves this season, Maddox is hitting .308 with two home runs and 20 RBI. The native of Gainesville, GA was selected by the Tigers in the 18th round in the 2014 draft out of the University of Tennessee.
BEAU BURROWS
Beau Burrows has been named an All-Star for the second time in his career. He was a Florida State League All-Star in 2017 with Lakeland. Burrows also was a 2017 Futures Game participant for the U.S. team. The number four prospect in the Tigers organization has made 14 starts for the SeaWolves in 2018, posting a 6-5 record with a 3.33 ERA (10th in the EL). He won four consecutive starts (April 30-May 16) and recently snapped a span of six starts without a win on June 24 against Altoona when he racked up a career-high 11 strikeouts. The Fort Worth, TX native was selected by the Tigers in the first round of the 2015 draft out of Weatherford HS.
KYLE FUNKHOUSER
Kyle Funkhouser has been named an All-Star for the first time in his career. The Erie right hander has made 15 starts, posting a 4-4 record with a 3.35 ERA. He is the number seven prospect in the Tigers organization according to MLB.com. Funkhouser has allowed two earned runs or fewer in five straight and eight of his past nine starts. In five starts in June, Funkhouser leads the team with a 4-1 record and an 0.94 ERA, not allowing a run in three of his five trips to the mound. Funkhouser hails from Palos Heights, IL and was selected by the Tigers in the fourth round of the 2016 draft out of the University of Louisville.
The SeaWolves begin a five-game series against the Bowie Baysox (Baltimore Orioles) tonight at UPMC Park at 7:05 p.m. The first 1,000 fans ages 4-14 receive a SeaWolves Youth Jersey courtesy of VisitPITTSBURGH. The Pirate Parrot will also be making an appearance at the ballpark. Fans can take advantage of Happy Hour in the Bud Light Beer Garden until first pitch. After the game, all fans can meet a SeaWolves player and C. Wolf in the Team Store to get an autograph thanks to Plyler Entry Systems.
