Fraley Takes Home League Weekly Award

Arkansas Travelers outfielder Jake Fraley was named Texas League Player of the Week for May 27-June 2. Fraley went 11-25 for the week with a slash line of .440/.481/.920. He belted three homeruns and three doubles while driving in 13, scoring eight and stealing two bases. Over the past week, he led the league in hits, extra base hits, homers, slugging percentage, OPS and runs scored. This is his first career TL Player of the Week award and he joins teammates Darren McCaughan and Andrew Moore as 2019 league weekly honorees.
Fraley was acquired by the Mariners organization this past November in a trade from Tampa Bay. Overall this season he is hitting .338/.408/.569 with 14 doubles, two triples, nine homers, 41 runs batted in and 14 stolen bases. He ranks among the league leaders in nearly every category while pacing the circuit in batting average, slugging percentage and hits (66). Fraley was originally drafted by the Tampa Bay Rays in the 2nd round of the 2016 draft out of LSU.
Fraley and the Travs begin a seven game road trip with the series opener at Northwest Arkansas tonight. The Travs currently lead the North Division first half race by 6.5 games over Tulsa with 14 left to play. They return to Dickey-Stephens Park for a six game homestand beginning on June 11.
