KANNAPOLIS, N.C. (July 9, 2017) - J.J Franco came through with a go-ahead double with two outs in the sixth inning to cap a comeback win, 3-2 in seven innings, in the second game of Sunday's doubleheader at Intimidators Stadium supported by Carolinas HealthCare System. Kannapolis (8-10 Second Half, 47-39) swept both games of Sunday's twin bill to run the team's current winning streak to four games.
After trailing the entire game, the Intimidators rallied for three runs in the home half of the sixth to steal a win in the team's final at-bats. Down 2-0 to the Suns, Zach Remillard opened the inning with a base hit, and Gavin Sheets drew a walk to put the tying run on base. Micker Adolfo moved both men into scoring position with a sac-bunt, and Jake Burger, the White Sox first round pick from the June 2017 First-Year Player Draft, drove in Remillard with an RBI-groundout to cut Hagerstown's lead to 2-1.

Aaron Schnurbusch drew a 2-out walk to put the go-ahead run on base, and Franco followed with a double down the left field line to plate Sheets and Schnurbusch to capture the lead. Franco finished 2-for-3 with two RBI.
Jake Elliott (1-1) tossed the final 1 and 2/3 innings, working around two walks, to earn the win. Hagerstown reliever Jordan Mills (4-2) took the loss, allowing three runs in two-thirds of an inning of relief.
Kannapolis starter Yelmison Peralta worked 4 and 2/3 innings, allowing an unearned run on three hits. Suns starter Sterling Sharp tossed 5.0 scoreless innings, working around three hits and two walks while striking out two in a no decision.
