In his Major League debut on Mother's Day, at 21 years old, with his family in attendance to watch him pitch professionally for the first time, Peralta tossed five and two-thirds innings against the second-best squad in the National League West at Coors Field in Denver, striking out 13 batters while taking a no-hitter into the sixth inning.
Not only did his 13 strikeouts set a new Brewers rookie record, but the Dominican Republic native is also just the fifth pitcher since 1908 to strike out 13 or more in his Major League debut [FreddyPeralta 13, 2018 Stephen Strasburg 14, 2010 J.R.
