Everett, WA - The Everett AquaSox (14-15) fell to the Vancouver Canadians (17-12) in a three-hit game, 3-1, on Thursday, August 24, 2017 at Everett Memorial Stadium.

Brian McAfee started on the mound for the Sox allowing only one hit in the first inning and kept Vancouver scoreless through the second inning. With two outs and a runner on second in the second inning, Austin Grebeck threw out Samad Taylor trying to score from second base on Bryan Lizardo's hit to center field.
The Canadians latched onto a lead in the third inning when McAfee gave up two hits including a double by Norberto Obeso to send Deiferson Barreto home, 1-0.
Eugene Helder made an impeccable play from one knee while playing third base to start off the fourth inning and the Sox continued flawless defense to set aside the Canadians in order.
Michael Rivera was called in the sixth inning and with two outs and two runners on, he struck out Brock Lundquist to end the inning. Chris Torres sent a line drive shot to left field for a single and gave the Frogs their first hit of the game in the bottom half of the sixth inning.
Rivera recorded three more strikeouts through the seventh and eighth inning while allowing two runs to score, 3-0. Paul Covelle relieved Rivera with a pop-up to second baseman Manny Pazos to close the eighth inning. The Frogs were set down in order by Canadians relief pitcher Travis Bergen in the eighth inning which continued Vancouver's lead over to the ninth inning, 3-0.
Torres sent a solo home run over the scoreboard to put the Sox on the board in the ninth inning, 3-1. A Grebeck walk, Helder single up the middle and Andrade groundout put two runners in scoring position. They were left stranded on a game-ending strikeout by Onil Pena, 3-1. Despite a three-hit game loss, the Sox shined defensively allowing only three runs to score on ten Canadians hits.
