August 2, 2026 — HILLSBORO, Ore.: The Everett AquaSox lost their final game against the Hillsboro Hops during the 2026 season, falling 9-3 at Hops Ballpark on Sunday afternoon.
An early surge from the Hillsboro offense set the tone for the afternoon as the Hops drove home five runs during the game’s first two frames. Swings from Kayson Cunningham brought home three of those runs — one on an RBI single and two more on an RBI single combined with a throwing error — to fuel the early spark.
Everett’s first run came during the top of the third inning courtesy of Ricardo Cova, who hit an RBI single to score Aiden Taurek. Hillsboro pitching stifled the AquaSox across the next five frames of the game, holding the Frogs out of the scoring column again until the final inning.

The Hops added two more runs in each of the fourth and sixth innings, raising their advantage to eight runs. José Mejía delivered an RBI single and an RBI double, and JD Dix brought home Hillsboro’s final run by hitting an RBI single of his own.
Luis Suisbel belted a two-run home run for Everett in the top of the ninth for his 12th long ball of 2026, but the late efforts were ultimately not enough as Hillsboro secured a 9-3 victory. In total, the Frogs collected eight hits, and the duo of Carter Dorighi and Taurek led the team with two base knocks each. Additionally, Taurek doubled and drew a walk to reach base three times.
