With the 2020 season just around the corner, it's time to get to know your Mississippi Braves front office staff! Meet Christy Shaw, our office manager, and Community Relations Director!

Name: Christy Shaw
Birthday: July 22
Hometown: Lexington, MS

Choice of superpower & why: Teleportation or Elemental Control. It would be cool to go wherever I want, whenever I want, but also cool to control my environment. I don't like the heat or tornadoes, lol.
Favorite Food:  Mom's dressing, that stuff is fantastic!
Favorite Sports Teams: Atlanta Braves
Favorite Athlete: I will say Javy Lopez, because of him, I became a Braves fan.
Favorite Movie: Bridesmaids, Lampoons Christmas Vacation
Favorite Actor: Don't think I have one.
First Car? Buick
Favorite TV Show? Live PD
Favorite Baseball Movie? I watched Field of Dreams a lot as a kid.
Favorite website besides mississippibraves.com: Workday.com
Favorite Food at Trustmark Park?  Philly Cheesesteak Nachos or Taco Salad
Most embarrassing moment in sports: Falling on the tarp
Hobbies in the off-season: Hunting, Fishing, or just doing something fun.
Best Moment in Sports: I played softball for 13 years, but I am the proudest of receiving the Diamond of Hope Award in 2018 from the Atlanta Braves. Read about Christy's powerful journey and winning battle with cancer HERE.
How did you get started working in sports? Initially just wanted to work for my favorite team, but it turned out to be something I love and enjoy.
What advice do you have for other people who are interested in working in sports? Be prepared for a lot of work and hours, haha. But, no matter what you do, do something you enjoy.
If you didn't work in sports, what would you do? My original major was criminal justice, with the intent to be on the federal level.
One thing people don't know about the M-Braves front office: We really like to have fun!
Other fun facts about you: Don't ask for my thoughts or opinion if you aren't prepared to hear my response - I'm going to be honest. (She's not joking ha)
