Boise, ID: The Boise Hawks have scored 30 runs in their past three games.
It has been an incredible run for this Boise Hawks team who now again contends for first place in the southern division. The Hawks now have 19 wins on the year and are five games over .500, which is a season high. Boise has also won three straight games with tonight's 10-3 win.
They have also won this series against Tri-City. After losing in game one, the Hawks have rallied back with 30 runs against the Dust Devils to give themselves a chance to win the first half of the southern division. Eugene and Hillsboro are still right on line with the Hawks as the lead is only separated by one game.
Tonight's game was very similar to the past two. Clutch hitting, solid shutdown pitching, and a gatorade shower at the end of the game was the way the ball-game finished. JB Moss continued on his hot stretch by going 2-2 in the game with a single and a home run. But he reached base all four times after also reaching base on two errors. For Moss, it was his fourth home run of the year and he now is at 14 RBI.
Boise scored 10 unanswered runs from the 2nd inning to the 8th inning between the time that Tri-City scored. The Dust Devils scored two in the top of the 1st but Boise quickly answered to take the lead. Tri-City answered with one run in the 9th off of Kyle Cedotal, but that was all.
Earning the win for Boise was reliever Ethan Westphal. Westphal looked sharp in his three innings of work where he only allowed one hit and struck out four. His ERA now drops to 5.59 after it rose as high as 9. Taking the loss for Tri-City was starter Osvaldo Hernandez. Hernandez drops to 0-2 on the year.
The Hawks and Dust Devils will complete this five game series tomorrow night at 7:15. Keinter Olivares will take the ball for Boise.
