The Boise Hawks (16-12) beat the Vancouver Canadians (14-14) on Friday night by a final score of 6-0. It was Boise's first shutout of the season as Vancouver collects just two hits.
 
Danny Edgeworth finally broke the scoring open in the bottom of the third. After singles for Matt Hearn and Terrin Vavra with two outs, Luis Castro drew a walk, and it was Edgeworth who ripped a single back up the middle to give Boise the 2-0 lead.
 
With runners still on the corners, Luke Morgan added another run for Boise with another base-hit up the middle to score Castro and it was 3-0 Hawks after the third inning.
 
Miguel Ausua gave the Hawks four innings of no-hit baseball. Ausua walked two, but struck-out four. Vancouver got their first hit of the game off Colton Pate who came into the game in the 5th inning and went two innings of scoreless baseball for the Hawks.
 
Boise got some more runs thanks to one swing of the bat from Daniel Jipping. After Cade Harris walked with two outs in the 6th inning, Jipping was behind in the count 0-2 before he hit his fifth home run of the year over the leftfield fence and Boise had a 5-0 lead.
 
The Hawks came back in the 7th and it was a triple for Matt Hearn to start the inning. Luis Castro came up later and hit a triple for himself, scoring Hearn, and the Hawks had a 6-0 advantage.
 
Eric Hepple threw two innings of shutout ball in the 7th and 8th innings and then it was Jefry Valdez to close it out in the 9th to get Boise their first shutout of the year as the Hawks win 6-0 and allow only two hits.
