Former Gonzaga Bulldogs right-hander Gabriel Hughes (1-0, 0.00) was nothing short of sensational in his High-A debut, finishing with a final line of 5 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 6 K on 63 pitches (41 strikes).

Starlin Thompson was a sparkplug atop the lineup for Spokane. Last year's No. 31 overall pick finished 3-for-5 with a double, run, RBI, and a steal of home.

Catcher Braxton Fulford connected on Spokane's first home run of the season—a two-run blast in the fourth inning—and added a single and a walk.
