Hagerstown, MD - Luis Garcia had his second four-hit game of the season as the Hagerstown Suns beat the Greensboro Grasshoppers 7-2 on Friday night at Historic Municipal Stadium. The Suns improve to 17-29 overall and will play a double header on Saturday night with a 5:05 PM first pitch for game one.

The Grasshoppers got out to an early lead by plating a run in the opening frame of the ballgame against Suns starter Tomas Alastre. Thomas Jones led off with a single to left, ending up at third after the next two batters grounded out to second. With two outs, Lazaro Alonso singled to right, scoring Jones and giving the Grasshoppers a 1-0 league.
The Suns tied the game in the bottom of the first against Grasshoppers starter Edward Cabrera. With one out, Garcia doubled to right and with two outs, Anderson Franco singled to center. Garcia scored to make it a 1-1 game as Nick Banks singled in the next at-bat to move Franco into scoring position, but Jake Scudder struck out to end the inning.
In the fifth Greensboro once again took the lead against Alastre. Garvis Lara singled to right and went to second when Jones was hit by a pitch. A double play allowed Lara to advance to third with two outs, and Lara scored on a wild pitch to put the Grasshoppers in front, 2-1.
Hagerstown answered in the bottom of the frame with Cabrera still on the bump. Armond Upshaw walked and Cole Freeman singled on bunt to third and a throwing error sent Upshaw toward home plate. He was thrown out on the play, with Freeman moving in to second. Garcia singled to center, driving in Freeman to tie the game. With two outs, Franco doubled to left to put the Suns in front 3-2.
Hagerstown added a run in the sixth when Garcia drove home Jeyner Baez to extend the lead to 4-2. In the seventh, Kameron Esthay hit his fourth home run of the season, a three-run shot to right-center, that put the Suns up by the final tally, 7-2.
Alastre (2-2) earned a win after throwing five innings while allowing two runs (one earned) on six hits with a walk and three strikeouts. Steven Fuentes earned his second save of the year, throwing four scoreless innings while allowing two hits with four strikeouts.
Notes: Garcia has 11 multi-hit games this season… He also had his sixth multi-RBI game… His four hits ties for the single-game high with himself, Juan Soto, and Branden Boggetto… Franco has eight multi-hit game and four multi-RBI efforts… Esthay led the team with three RBIs on Friday… It was his fourth multi-RBI game this season… He went 71 at-bats between homers, with his third of the season coming on April 18 against Delmarva… He's hit three at Historic Municipal Stadium this season… Both teams struck out seven times… Fuentes retired the first 10 batters he faced… The Suns continue a five-game series at Historic Municipal Stadium against the Greensboro Grasshoppers on Saturday with a double header beginning at 5:05 PM… It's Harry Potter night at the ballpark… One lucky fan will win a trip for their family to Universal Studios…  In game one, Hagerstown will send RHP Jackson Tetreault (0-5, 6.51 ERA) to the mound against Greensboro RHP Ryan Lillie (2-1, 3.09 ERA)… Game two will feature Suns RHP Kyle Johnston (0-1, 2.92 ERA) against Grasshoppers RHP Dustin Beggs (1-0, 4.76 ERA)… The broadcast can be heard, starting with the pregame show at 4:50 PM on www.hagerstownsuns.com by going to multimedia and "Listen Live" which also has downloads for a free app on the iPhone, iPad, Blackberry, and Android...
