Timber Rattlers Jersey Auctions raise nearly $11,000 for charity

November 6, 2014

GRAND CHUTE, WI - The Wisconsin Timber Rattlers wore alternate jerseys six times during the 2014 season to raise money for charity. The auctions for those jerseys raised a total of $10,912.93.

The alternate jerseys worn by the Midwest League affiliate of the Milwaukee Brewers included Outdoors Camouflage, Twentieth Anniversary Throwbacks, Star Wars™ Night, Brewers Sunday, and Salute to Cows jerseys. The team also wore Patriotic-Themed hats and jerseys that were auctioned off to fans during a Military Appreciation series.

Money from the auctions went to the following charities: Make-A-Wish Wisconsin, Fox Valley Veterans Council Emergency Fund, Ducks Unlimited, the family of former Timber Rattlers pitcher Jorge Lopez, Freedom Food Pantry, and Children's Hospital of Wisconsin.

A total of $529 from the Midwest League in fine money for on-field behavior was returned to the Timber Rattlers front office to give to charity. That money was donated to the Muscular Dystrophy Association.

The Wisconsin Timber Rattlers front office is currently making their plans for alternate jerseys to be worn during the 2015 season. Check timberrattlers.com for updates on the 2015 promotional calendar throughout the offseason for the latest details.
