Jensen dealt to Dodgers in trade
Outfielder Kyle Jensen, whose 92 RBI for the New Orleans Zephyrs in 2014 ranked second in the Pacific Coast League, was traded to the Los Angeles Dodgers on Monday night for a player to be named later or cash considerations.
The Marlins' 12th round selection in 2009, Jensen has slugged 128 home runs in 705 career minor league games, including 27 last year with New Orleans, the sixth-best single-season total in club history. His 39 homers over the last two seasons rank fifth on the team's career chart.
Jensen is only the third Zephyr to reach the 90 RBI plateau in a season, though he struck out 147 times in 497 at-bats while compiling a .331 on-base percentage. He also became the second Zephyr to hit 25 doubles and 25 home runs in a season, joining Andy Tracy in 2007.
The Marlins' 40-man roster now stands at 36 players.
