Talley walks off Jays in 9th for 2-1 win Another pitcher's duel goes to the wire, teams split series It was another 1-1 game in the ninth inning, but this time, Jon Talley made sure the game ended in regulation play.

The Blue Jays catcher singled to left field, driving in the game's winning run and pushing Dunedin to a 2-1 victory over Bradenton during a Wednesday matinee at Dunedin Stadium.

Local schools were out in bunches for "Education Day", and the kids in attendance got to see a pitcher's duel between Dunedin's Joel Carreno and Bradenton's Brian Leach, although neither ended up factoring into the decision.

Both pitchers allowed one run in the fourth inning, with Bradenton's (22-17) coming on a solo home run from Eric Fryer, his third homer of the series as part of a 3-for-4 day at the plate.

Dunedin (23-17) answered with a run in the bottom of the inning on a Mike McDade single through the left side to make it a 1-1 game.

For Leach, he gave up only three hits in six innings of work, walking three and striking out four. Meanwhile, Carreno gave up seven hits in six innings and walked two, but struck out nine batters.

Mike McDade set up Talley's moment with a double down the left field line with one out in the inning off Tom Boleska (0-2). He was pinch run for by Adeiny Hechavarria, and after the substitution, Daniel Perales was intentionally walked to bring up Talley.

Talley prompted lined one past Brock Holt at shortstop and into left field for his second straight hit, and Hechavarria flew around third and headed home to send Dunedin off with their first game-winner at Dunedin Stadium this year.

Talley, McDade and John Tolisano all had two hits to lead Dunedin's offense. Frank Gailey (3-1) pitched the last two innings and gave up only one hit to pick up the win in relief.

Dunedin will travel south to Jupiter to begin a four game series with the Hammerheads. Game on is on Thursday with Toronto starter Brian Tallet making a rehab start for the Blue Jays. First pitch is set for 7 p.m.
