Knights/White Sox To Hold Open Tryout

FORT MILL, S.C. - The Charlotte Knights will host an open tryout camp for their parent organization, the 2005 World Series Champion, Chicago White Sox, at Knights Stadium on Tuesday, July 11TH.

The open camp is free for players ages 15-23. Participants under the age of 21 need to bring written permission from a parent or guardian. The camp will begin promptly at 9:00 a.m. with registration beginning at 8:00 a.m. at Knights Stadium. Players need to supply their own equipment (glove, cleats, catchers gear, bats). Some bats will be available.

American Legion players must have written permission from their coach if the Legion season is not finished and any player drafted in the 2006 free agent draft by any team other than the Chicago White Sox will not be able to participate.

Charlotte Knights Vice President and General Manager, Dan Rajkowski stated, "We are pleased to offer this opportunity to area players with the desire to pursue a professional career, and we are appreciative of the White Sox allowing us to hold the workout."

Chicago White Sox scouts Warren Hughes and Alex Slattery will supervise the open camp. All players will be asked to run timed sprints and throw from their defensive positions. Position players will get an opportunity to hit and pitchers will throw in front of the scouts.
