2015 Royals Schedule Released

Burlington, NC - The Burlington Royals are excited to announce their 2015 Appalachian League Schedule. The Advanced Rookie affiliate of the American League Champion Kansas City Royals will host 35 home contests at Burlington Athletic Stadium this upcoming season.

Before facing Appalachian League competition, the Royals will host the Kernersville Bulldogs in an exhibition game on Sunday, June 21 with a Father's Day Celebration. The Bulldogs, a summer collegiate team competing in the Carolina-Virginia Collegiate League, will play the Royals for the sixth straight season.

Appalachian League play will begin on June 23 as the Royals hit the road for six games and then kick off the home campaign with six games from Monday, June 29 through Saturday, July 4.

The 4th of July game against the Kingsport Mets will be a spectacular all-day event at Burlington Athletic Stadium. The gates will open early for music, food, games, inflatables, and fun for everyone. The game against the Mets will begin at 7PM and will conclude with the best fireworks show in town.

The Royals will host their East Division rival, the Danville Braves, six times during season and travel to Danville four times. New to the Appalachian League this year are the Pulaski Yankees. The Yankees visit Burlington for two sets of three games in August. The annual Summer Fun Day Game is scheduled for Wednesday, July 22 and will begin at 11AM for all summer camps, day cares, youth groups, and kid clubs to attend.

"After such a great 2014 season for our fans, we couldn't wait to see the 2015 schedule," said Ryan Keur, General Manager. "We have seven Thirsty Thursdays, a huge July Fourth celebration planned, and tons of new improvements to allow our fans to have the best experience at the ballpark this summer."

Standard game time is 7 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 6 p.m. on Sundays, unless otherwise noted. Gates open one hour prior to game time.
