Tigers outlast ValleyCats in 18

Brennan Boesch went 4-for-7 and delivered the go-ahead RBI double in the top of the 18th inning as Oneonta outlasted Tri-City, 2-1, on Friday.

Scott Sizemore greeted reliever Chad Wagler (1-2) with a single and moved to second on Brandon Timm's sacrifice before Boesch doubled to center field.

Boesch also plated Sizemore with an RBI single in the fourth for the Tigers (12-5), who have won four of five.

The ValleyCats (9-6) took a 1-0 lead in the second on Nicholas Moresi's RBI single before being shut down the rest of the way.

Ronald Bourquin had three of Oneonta's 12 hits.

Jose Fragoso (3-0) picked up the win with two perfect innings and Brett Jensen allowed a hit in the 18th before posting his seventh save. -- Louice Thomas/MLB.com
