WHO'S HOT: CF Matt Camp has been finding the base paths often in his last nine games, hitting .368 with six RBIs and six runs scored. P William Muldowney may be 0-1 in his last two games, but has recorded 10 strikeouts and just one earned run in nine total innings.
WHO'S NOT: OF Deryck Lewis has struggled to get on base lately, recording just three hits in his last 25 attempts.
PLAYER TO WATCH: SS Joshua Lansford has been hot in his last five games, hitting .450 with one RBI and four runs scored.
PERFORMANCE OF THE WEEK: P Billy Petrick won his third consecutive decision Friday, striking out one and walking two through six innings. Petrick gave up five hits in the contest.
WHAT TO WATCH FOR: After completing their series at Yakima, the first place Hawks return home for a five-game set with Vancouver on Wednesday.
Eugene Emeralds (San Diego Padres)
THE WEEK THAT WAS: The Emeralds went 3-3 last week, keeping their record at an even 10-10, last in the West Division.
WHO'S HOT: 3B David Freese has remained hot, hitting .407 in his last eight games, with two home runs, nine runs scored, and a scorching 14 RBIs.
WHO'S NOT: RF Garner Wetzel has struggled in his last five games, recording just two hits in his last 18 attempts.
PLAYER TO WATCH: P Nathanial Culp has started to heat up on the mound, allowing no earned runs in his last eight innings pitched (three games). Through that span, he's struck out three and walked three.
PERFORMANCE OF THE WEEK: 3B David Freese had an unbelievable game against Salem-Keizer on Monday, registering seven RBIs in the Emeralds' 12-10 win. Freese was 4-for-4 with a homer and two doubles for seven RBIs and scored twice.
WHAT TO WATCH FOR: After finishing their series at Everett, the Ems return home for a five-game series vs. Yakima.
Everett AquaSox (Seattle Mariners)
THE WEEK THAT WAS: The AquaSox went 2-4 last week, bringing their overall record to 11-9, three games out of first in the West.
WHO'S HOT: 1B Bryan Sabatella has hit .389 in his last seven games, knocking in two runss while scoring twice.
WHO'S NOT: P Natvidad Dilone has been struggling lately, allowing eight earned runs and 14 hits in 5 2/3 innings pitched. He's accumulated an 0-2 record through that span.
PLAYER TO WATCH: P Michael Schilling's 0-2 record in his last two games certainly isn't reflective of how he has pitched. In 12 total innings, Schilling has allowed just two earned runs, striking out nine while walking three.
PERFORMANCE OF THE WEEK: P Steven Uhlmansiek was dominant in Everett's 2-0 win over Vancouver Wednesday, tossing five scoreless innings and lowering his ERA to 0.47. Uhlmansiek allowed two hits, struck out three and walked two in the game.
WHAT TO WATCH FOR: After finishing their series with Eugene at home, the AquaSox hit the road for a five-game set in Spokane.
Salem-Keizer Volcanoes (San Francisco Giants)
THE WEEK THAT WAS: The Volcanoes went 2-4 last week, dropping their record to 14-6 overall. Still, they remain in first place in the West, tied with Vancouver.
WHO'S HOT: C Henry Gutierrez has stayed hot, notching eight hits in his last 20 at-bats. Through that span, he's knocked in two runs and scored twice. P John Odom has breezed in his last two games, going 2-0 with nine strikeouts while allowing just one earned run.
WHO'S NOT: CF Michael McBryde has struggled a bit lately, getting just two hits in his last 12 attempts at the plate. Although P Craig Whitaker has struck out 10 in his last 9 2/3 innings, he's also allowed nine earned runs and walked seven.
PLAYER TO WATCH: P Juan Trinidad has recorded three saves in as many games, striking out three in 2 2/3 innings.
PERFORMANCE OF THE WEEK: P Gib Hobson pitched five strong innings in Wednesday's 5-2 win over Eugene, striking out five, walking two and allowing just two hits. He gave up one earned run in the game.
WHAT TO WATCH FOR: After wrapping up their road series against Vancouver, the Volcanoes return home for a five-game set against Tri-City.
Spokane Indians (Texas Rangers)
THE WEEK THAT WAS: The Indians went 4-2 last week, bringing their overall record to 9-11, tied for first in the East.
WHO'S HOT: C Thomas Berkery has hit .387 in his last eight appearances, driving in seven runs while scoring twice. C Chad Tracy has also been hitting consistently well lately, batting .316 with two home runs, seven RBIs and eight runs score in his last nine games.
WHO'S NOT: C Billy Killian hasn't hit well in his last five games, recording just two hits in his last 18 at-bats. Still, those two hits have resulted in three RBIs for the catcher. OF Brian Nelson is trying to snap a cold streak, as he has recorded one hit in his last 11 at-bats.
PLAYER TO WATCH: P Jose Jaimes has simply been dominating lately, fanning 11 while issuing three walks and giving up just two hits and one run over his last eight innings pitched (two games). He's 1-0 in that span.
PERFORMANCE OF THE WEEK: CF Grant Gerrard was 4-for-6 with two RBIs, two runs scored and one walk in Thursday's 11-9 win over Yakima. The game, which went 12 innings, was won by 1B Christopher Davis' two-run homer.
WHAT TO WATCH FOR: After wrapping their road series against Tri-City, the Indians return home for a five-game set vs. Everett.
Tri-City Dust Devils (Colorado Rockies)
THE WEEK THAT WAS: The Dust Devils went 1-5 last week, dropping their record to 7-13, two games out of first in the East. They had lost five straight before rebounding to beat Spokane Saturday.
WHO'S HOT: P Ethan Katz is 1-0 in his last four games, allowing two hits and no earned runs while striking out five over 6 1/3 innings.
WHO'S NOT: The team. Over the last ten games, the Dust Devils don't have a single player hitting above .300, including seven players who have hit .250 or worse over that span.
PLAYER TO WATCH: Despite the Dust Devils' dismal hitting lately, SS Geoff Strickland has put up solid numbers, batting .296 over the last nine games, and .385 over his last four.
PERFORMANCE OF THE WEEK: LF Joshua Banda hit his third home run of the season in Saturday's 10-4 win over Spokane. Banda was 2-for-4 with one RBI and three runs scored in the game.
WHAT TO WATCH FOR: After wrapping up its home series against Spokane on Monday, Tri-City hits the road for a five-game series against Salem-Keizer.
Vancouver Canadians (Oakland Athletics)
THE WEEK THAT WAS: The Canadians went 5-1 last week, improving their record to 14-6, to stay tied with Salem-Keizer for first in the West.
WHO'S HOT: OF Matthew Sulentic has been playing well lately, hitting .359 with eight RBIs and one home run in his last 10 games. P Scott Moore struck out seven and allowed no runs over his last four innings pitched (three games). All three outings were save opportunities.
WHO'S NOT: P James Heuser has given up nine runs and 10 hits in his last nine innings pitched (two games). Heuser is 1-1 in that span, striking out seven while walking three.
PLAYER TO WATCH: CF Jermaine Mitchell has hit well over his last five games, going 6-for-15 with two RBIs and two runs scored.
PERFORMANCE OF THE WEEK: P Scott Deal pitched five shutout innings in Vancouver's 3-0 win over Everett on Friday. Deal allowed six hits, walked one and struck out three while lowering his ERA to 1.64.
WHAT TO WATCH FOR: After finishing their home series against Salem-Keizer, the Canadians hit the road for a five-game set against Boise.
Yakima Bears (Arizona Diamondbacks)
THE WEEK THAT WAS: The Bears went 3-3, putting their record at 6-14, last in the East. The good news is they're only three games out of first.
WHO'S HOT: P Shane Dove, despite being 0-1 in his last two appearances, has allowed just one earned run over his last 12 innings pitched. In that span, Dove has struck out 12, walked two and given up 14 hits.
WHO'S NOT: The Bears have had difficulty connecting lately, and it shows. Throughout the last 10 games, six players with at least five appearances are hitting under .200
PLAYER TO WATCH: P Daryl Arreola hasn't allowed a hit or walk in his last three innings while fanning two.
PERFORMANCE OF THE WEEK: P Eric Butler had a strong outing in Wednesday's 8-1 win over Spokane, allowing five hits and one run through five innings. Butler struck out five and walked two in the contest.
WHAT TO WATCH FOR: After finishing their series with Boise at home on Monday, the Bears head to Eugene for a five-game set.
