Threshers honor one millionth fan

CLEARWATER, Fla. -- The Clearwater Threshers are proud to announce that they have welcomed the one millionth fan to come through Bright House Field since its opening in 2004. At 6:40 p.m. on May 24, 2010, Gerry Goodwin became the one millionth fan to walk through the gates to attend a Threshers game. Goodwin, of Tarpon Springs, Fla., is the recipient of a prize pack valued at more than $10,000.

Goodwin was honored upon entering through the West Gate at Bright House Field, as fans walked through the turnstiles on a red carpet. He was escorted down to the field, where a 2010 Chrysler Sebring, courtesy of Dayton Andrews Dodge, Chrysler and Jeep, ferried him around the field and to the mound to throw out the ceremonial first pitch.

Goodwin was awarded two free season tickets to the Clearwater Threshers for life, along with use of a luxury suite for a game of his choosing. Also included in the grand prize is a weekend stay at the Sheraton Sand Key Resort on Clearwater Beach, Fls., $1,000 cash, a free 2010 Threshers jersey, a team autographed bat, a $500 gift certificate to the Diamond Outfitters team store, a $50 tab to Frenchy's Tiki Pavilion located in left field, four tickets to a Phillies Spring Training game in 2011, and a foursome in the Threshers annual charity golf tournament.

Bright House Field opened in 2004 and hosts the Threshers, formerly the Clearwater Phillies. The club has led the Florida State League in attendance in five of the first six seasons since opening Bright House Field.
