Dodger Outfielder Jason Repko Scheduled to Join 51s on ML Rehab Assignment
The Las Vegas 51s professional baseball team returns to Cashman Field, following the Triple-A All-Star Break, for a brief four-game home stand in Pacific Coast League action against the first place Tucson Sidewinders, Triple-A affiliate of the Arizona Diamondbacks
Thursday, July 13 - at 7:05 p.m. (Budweiser Dollar Beer Night); Friday, July 14 - at 7:05 p.m. (Greg Maddux Bobblehead Night), first 2,500 fans in attendance will receive a Maddux Bobblehead in a Valley High School Uniform; Saturday, July 15 - at 7:05 p.m. (post-game "Fireworks Show"); Sunday, July 16 - at 12:05 p.m.
Repko injured his left ankle (high ankle sprain) on Tuesday, May 9 against Houston when his spikes caught in the Dodger Stadium outfield fence padding. He was placed on the 15-day disabled list on May 10 and was moved from the 15-day to the 60-day "DL" on June 15.
Repko has appeared in 25 games this season for the Dodgers and is batting .304 (21-for-69) with 4 doubles, 3 home runs, 12 RBI and 8-for-9 in stolen bases.
He was a member of the 51s during the 2004 and 2005 seasons. In 2004, he appeared in 75 games and batted .311 (94-for-302). In 2005, he played the entire season (except for 8 games in L.V.) for L.A. and batted .221 in 129 games.
Repko would become the fifth Dodger player to join the 51s for a Major League rehabilitation assignment this season. The other four were first baseman Nomar Garciaparra from April 20-21; right-handed pitcher Eric Gagné from May 26-29; infielder Cesar Izturis from June 1-18 and catcher Dioner Navarro from June 9-15.
