Name: Katie Crawford
Birthday: March 16th
Hometown: Bellingham, WA
College: Cal State Northridge
Family: Parents Ken & Linda, my sister Sarah and a big extended family
Choice of superpower & why: Shape-shifting - so many options!
What would you do with a million dollars? Invest & save, buy season tickets to the Mariners & Seahawks and travel.
Favorite Food: Cereal - always delicious
Favorite Sports Team: Los Angeles Dodgers, Chicago Bulls
Favorite Athlete: BJ Armstrong
Favorite Movie: Boondock Saints
Favorite Actor: Josh Hopkins (Cougar Town) and Dash Mihok (Romeo+Juliet)
Favorite place to travel: Tateyama, Japan
First Car? Toyota Camry - most dependable car I've ever had
Favorite TV Show? Criminal Minds, Modern Family & NBC's Thursday Night comedy shows
Favorite Baseball Movie? Rookie of the Year
Favorite website besides aquasox.com? www.abcnews.com & www.espn.com
Favorite Food at Everett Memorial Stadium? Our hot dogs are pretty delicious but I probably have to go with chowder in a bread bowl
Most embarrassing moment in sports: We were short people for our promotional team during a game last year, so I went out to help throw out oven mitts for our 'Hot Glove of the Game' during an inning break... I totally lost my grip on the last one and it went right straight instead of up and bounced off the top of the dugout. (Catcher) Guy Welsh wouldn't let me live that down for weeks.
Hobbies in the off-season: Travel, spending time with family, watching football
Best Moment in Sports: My first day with the Astros I was in charge of taking auction winners down on to the field at Minute Maid Park to watch batting practice... turning a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity into a career has been a blessing.
How did you get started working in sports? As an intern for the Houston Astros and then the Frisco RoughRiders (AA-Texas)
What advice do you have for other people who are interested in working in sports? Be prepared to work hard, but if you want it go for it. If you knock on enough doors and put in the hours, good things will come.
If you didn't work in sports what would you do? I would either work with kids who are autistic or I would teach English in Japan.
One thing people don't know about the AquaSox office: Troy, Teresa, Todd & I all have birthdays within a week of each other.
Other fun facts about you: I have a pretty eclectic resume - in college I worked as a nanny, a sports photographer and was on the PR team for Star Wars Celebration IV
