RS3 Gives Back Following F1
Austin, TX - Following one of the most successful food and beverage weekends at Circuit of the Americas, Ryan Sanders Sports Services (RS3), the hospitality partner at COTA, gave back to the Central Texas community in a big way. At the conclusion of the three-day Formula 1 race weekend October 31 - November 2, RS3 donated over 5,000 lbs. of produce and 400 lbs. of dry goods to the Capital Area Food Bank of Texas and over $250,000 to local non-profits.
Shaped after a similar model used at Dell Diamond and other RS3 accounts, RS3 brings in numerous local non-profits to work the food and beverage stands throughout the race track. Each group works with RS3 supervisors and receives a portion of the proceeds from their stand. For F1, RS3 partnered with Capitol City Ballers, Cedar Ridge Band Booster Club, Ministry of Challenge and Pflugerville High School Project Graduation, among others, to raise much needed funds for the organizations.
"Our organization has had the opportunity to recruit parents and coordinate logistics with the RS3 team in at least four events since RS3 began providing services at CoTA and the Austin360 Amphitheater," said David Perez, president of Pflugerville High School Project Graduation. "Our parents were trained by RS3 on several occasions on food and beverage handling and how to provide the very best customer service using the RS3 'Plus 1' model. We recently completed the 2014 Formula 1 race weekend and were grateful for RS3 to allow us the opportunity each day to be responsible for the Rojo's Southwestern Grill. We look forward to continue working with you as we continue to work towards our financial goal and making our event the most memorable for the graduating Class of 2015."
RS3 partners with the Capital Area Food Bank of Texas at the conclusion of each event held at COTA to ensure no food is wasted.
"We're proud to be able to work with such a wide variety of non-profits to make a difference in the community following these events," said George King, president of RS3. "We're able to truly impact and improve the landscape of Central Texas beyond the great economic impact these events provide to the city."
"We applaud RS3's successful food-rescue program at the 2014 FORMULA 1 UNITED STATES GRAND PRIX," said Edgar Farrera, COTA's director of sustainability. "Food rescue, composting and recycling form the backbone of Circuit of The Americas' waste diversion initiatives, which are responsible for keeping more than 100 tons of waste out of landfills each year."
