Loons Game Cancelled

May 31, 2010

MIDLAND, MI - The Lake County Captains watched their nine runs on eight hits wash away in the bottom of the fourth, as Monday's game with the Great Lakes Loons was cancelled due to rain.

The game, being the Loons last scheduled match-up of the first half against Lake County, will not be made up. The Loons win the series 2-1 and remain two games behind the Captains, who lead the Midwest League's Eastern Division.

Fans that purchased tickets for Monday's rainout may exchange them at the Dow Diamond box office for tickets, of equal or lesser value, to any of the other remaining Loons home games, based on availability.

The Loons will host a team from the Midwest League's Western Division for the first time of 2010 on Tuesday as the Quad Cities River Bandits come to Midland for a three-game series. RHP Will Savage (4-1, 2.18) will start for the Loons; the River Bandits have yet to name a starter. First pitch for the game is scheduled for 7:05 p.m. Tuesday is $1 Family Feast Night, presented by Chemical Bank. Fans in attendance have their choice of $1 hot dogs, 16 oz. Coke products and ice cream sandwiches.

The Great Lakes Loons are a fourth-year Single-A partner of the Los Angeles Dodgers and members of the Midwest League. For more information about the Loons, visit Loons.com or call 989-837-BALL.
