McConnell Returns to Idaho Falls

The Kansas City Royals have reassigned shortstop Chris McConnell to the Idaho Falls Chukars. McConnell played last season for I.F. and was named a Pioneer League All-Star as he hit .331 with 6 HR, 39 RBIs and a league best 8 triples. He also finished 3rd in the league's MVP voting.

McConnell had spent the first 3 ½ months of this season with the class A Burlington Bees. In 69 games, he batted .172 with 1 HR and 18 runs batted in. He had 8 stolen bases.

Originally selected in the 9th round of the 2004 draft, this is McConnell's 3rd season in professional baseball. He is from Franklinville, NJ.

With the addition of McConnell, who will wear #11, the Chukars roster is now at 31 players.
