Squirrels Announce Jam-Packed 2015 Promotional Schedule
Richmond, Va. - The Richmond Flying Squirrels, Double-A affiliate of the World Champion San Francisco Giants, are excited to announce the release of their promotional schedule for the 2015 season. The schedule proudly features 21 new and improved fireworks shows, 11 Free Shirt Fridays, 18 unique giveaways and 11 Kids Club Sunday's with giveaways. Fireworks displays will accompany every Thursday and Saturday night game at the Diamond, while Opening Night on April 9th will feature the Squirrels first ever "Dueling Fireworks Extravaganza"(simultaneous fireworks shows to occur on the field and in the traditional location). New for 2015 is the Squirrels Free Shirt Fridays and Happy Hour for all 11 Friday night contests. A different Squirrels themed shirt will be given to the first 1,000 fans and Happy Hour drink specials will be available from 5:30-7:30PM. The team will of course pay homage to the Giants championship success with a World Series Replica Ring (April 28th), Hunter Strickland Bobblehead (July 7th) and a Joe Panik "Panic Button" (July 21st). Squirrels Tails Kids Club Sundays are once again a focal point with this year's schedule featuring giveaways such as the Nutzy Pillowcase (April 12th), Nutzy Toothbrush Holder presented by The Children's Hospital at VCU (May 24th), and the always popular Nutzy Cape Giveaway (August 2nd). While fireworks highlight the promotional schedule, the Thursday and Saturday shows are nothing alike. Thursday Night In Your Face Fireworks presented by Your Local ford Dealers will feature close proximity blasts shot directly from the field. Saturdays will be Superblast Saturdays, with each show lasting twice as long as last year, providing quite the show high in the sky. Superblast Saturdays will be shot off beyond the right field wall. Both Thursday and Superblast Saturdays will be unique and exciting shows for all fans.
In addition to the laundry list of spectacular promotions, the Squirrels have added specialty themed weeks and weekends for the 2015 season. Specialty themes include Salute to Healthcare Weekend (May 22-24), Kickoff to Summer Weekend (June 12-14), American Week (July 4-9), College Weekend (July 16-19), Squirrel-A-Con-Geekend (July 31-August 2) and Back to School Weekend (September 4-7). Each themed week and weekend has promotions, giveaways and in-game entertainment related to the theme. Additionally, Moms will land a free Squirrels Wine Stopper presented by Cupcake Wines giveaway on Mother's Day (May 10) and Dads can collect a Grill Spatula giveaway on Father's Day (June 21). An additional announcement for the Squirrels 2015 celebrity guests will be released at a later date.
The popular McDonald's Monday promotion will also return in 2015. Fans are invited to bring a McDonald's receipt to the box office for any of the Squirrels eight Monday games and receive a buy-one-get-one ticket offer.
