Akron RubberDucks to Host Captains

Pre-season exhibition game set for April 7 at Canal Park
January 30, 2015

(AKRON, OHIO)  - The Akron RubberDucks, Double-A affiliate of the Cleveland Indians, will take on the Indians Single-A affiliate Lake County Captains in a pre-season exhibition game on Tuesday, April 7 at Canal Park in Akron. The seven-inning contest will start at 5:00 p.m.

This will be the second consecutive year the teams meet in a pre-season affair after not facing off since 2007. Last year, the RubberDucks defeated the Captains, 11-1, at Classic Park in Eastlake. The game will give Akron fans a first-look at its 2015 roster and a chance to see future RubberDucks in action.

"We are thrilled to host this fun matchup. It will give our fans their first chance to sit and have a drink at the Tiki Bar, try an Extreme Food item, and get sneak peak at the 2015 RubberDucks before Opening Day," said RubberDucks General Manager Jim Pfander. "We want to thank Lake County General Manager Brad Seymour and his staff for hosting this game last year, and we want to thank the Cleveland Indians for granting our fans a look at the future of the Tribe!"

Individuals or companies with full season ticket packages for the RubberDucks will receive game tickets and access to a private post-game meet-the-teams event. The post-game event will feature the opportunity to take pictures with, and get autographs from all of the players and coaches from both teams.

Tickets for the game will go on-sale when the 2015 regular season single-game tickets become available at a later date.
