REPORT: Thunder Football Giveaway Deflated

Your Thunder, Double-A affiliate of the New York Yankees, have let the air out on one of their most popular promotions for the 2015 season. As part of the team's annual Football Night on Wednesday, September 2nd against the New Britain Rock Cats, the team was planning to giveaway replica footballs to the first 1,000 fans through the gate (ages 6 and over).

When the first shipment was received at ARM & HAMMER Park this week, the footballs inside were found to be deflated well under MiLB Giveaway standards.

"We have launched a full investigation and the evidence thus far supports the conclusion that the footballs that we were planning to give away in September have been deflated like the ones used in the AFC Championship game between the Patriots and Colts," said General Manager Will Smith. "Our top investigator, Boomer, is on the case."

A source close to the investigation has said that over 40 interviews of front office personnel have been conducted but the team is no closer to finding the culprit.

"I'm not a football expert like Mona Lisa Vito is a car expert, but I can say that those footballs were definitely deflated" said Will Smith. "If nothing comes from the investigation, we plan to give away the deflated footballs as is."

The Thunder plan to announce the rest of their promotions and giveaways for the 2015 season next week.

Your Thunder, the Double-A Affiliate of the New York Yankees, will begin the 2015 season on April 9 in Erie against the Seawolves. The first home game at ARM & HAMMER Park is on Thursday, April 16. Season tickets, group outings, Pic-A-Plans, and Mini Plans are on sale now. Single game tickets will go on sale on Saturday, March 14.
