Don Logan To Receive Merit Citation by Utah State Alumni Relations
The event will be held at the ballroom of the Monte Carlo, and, in addition to this awards presentation, Gary Anderson, Utah State head football coach, will be speaking and there will be many former Utah State football players in attendance.
Logan, in his 27th season with the Las Vegas professional baseball franchise, is a native of Tonopah, Nev., and graduated from Utah State in 1981.
"As an Alumni Association, we are very pleased to honor Mr. Logan with this Merit Citation," said Patty Halaufia, Executive Director of Alumni Relations, Utah State University. "He is an outstanding alumnus of Utah State University and I offer my congratulations on this distinctive occasion."
The Merit Citation acknowledges the successful career that Logan has achieved in the game of baseball. During his tenure with the Stars/51s, Logan has been presented twice with the PCL Executive of the Year Award (1992 and 1998). He also serves as the PCL's Vice President and is chairman of the league's executive committee to oversee the operation of the PCL and serves on the advisory board for Branch B. Rickey, III, President of the PCL.
Logan is also involved in many community projects, including serving on the Board of Trustees for the Southern Nevada Sports Hall of Fame (SNHOF), Board of Directors for the Muscular Dystrophy Association, A.L.S. Advisory Board; the Boys and Girls Club Advisory Board and is a member of the Maaco Bowl Las Vegas Executive committee.
