Xtra Mart Presents Fireworks Fridays This Summer at Dodd Stadium

NORWICH, CT - The Connecticut Tigers are excited to announce a new partnership with Xtra Mart Convenience Stores to sponsor all five Friday Night Fireworks games at Dodd Stadium this season. The Tigers inaugural season begins with a road trip on Friday, June 18 in Troy, NY against the Tri-City ValleyCats, and the home opener at Dodd Stadium is on Saturday, June 26th against the Vermont Lake Monsters at 7:05 p.m.

"I am thrilled to have Xtra Mart Convenience Stores as a partner with the Tigers this summer," said Connecticut Tigers General Manager Andrew Weber. "Friday Night Fireworks have been a staple at Dodd Stadium for many years and Xtra Mart has helped us carry on that tradition!"

Xtra Mart has 37 locations throughout the state, including southeastern Connecticut stores in Norwich, (564 Main Street); Plainfield, (704 Norwich Road); Jewett City, (69B North Main Street); North Stonington, (226 Norwich-Westerly Road); Putnam, (162 School Street) and Taftville, (186 Norwich Avenue). With such prominent features as Deli Joe's Fresh to Go featuring breakfast sandwiches, fresh deli meats and the Xtra Café with great coffee specials, Xtra Mart is your one-stop shop for all of your quick needs on the go!

The Tigers' first Friday home game is on Friday, July 16th against the State College Spikes (Pittsburgh Pirates). The Tigers will also host Friday night home games on July 23rd against the Tri-City ValleyCats, (Houston Astros); August 6th against the Hudson Valley Renegades, (Tampa Bay Rays); August 13th against the Auburn Doubledays (Toronto Blue Jays); and August 20th vs. the Staten Island Yankee(New York Yankees).

The Connecticut Tigers are entering their first year at Dodd Stadium and will play a 76-game schedule from mid-June through early September as part of the New York-Penn League, the oldest continually operated Single-A League in minor league baseball. The Tigers moved to southeastern Connecticut in April after playing 44 seasons in Oneonta, NY.
