Ingram hired as Emeralds broadcaster
Ingram, a native of Madison, Miss., was the Director of Media Relations/Broadcasting for the Jackson (MS) Senators of the independent Central League in 2004. Prior to his position with the Senators, Ingram was Station Manager for WQJB-FM 104.5 in Starkville, Miss.
Ingram's play-by-play experience encompasses a wide variety of sports including baseball, basketball and football. A graduate of Mississippi College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in communications, Ingram was the play-by-play voice for his alma mater from 1999-2003. The Mississippi College Choctaws, a member of the American Southwest Conference, compete at the NCAA Division III level. Ingram has extensive prep experience as well, broadcasting high school sports of all kinds in Jackson and Starkville from 2002-2004.
Ingram becomes the franchises 11th broadcaster since 1983. Notable Emeralds play-by-play announcers include current Oregon State University football and men's basketball announcer Mike Parker (1983-86), former San Francisco Giants announcers Dave Glass (1987-88) and Dennis Higgins (1993-94, 2003-04) and current University of Oregon women's basketball voice Ray Martin (1999-2002). Two former Eugene broadcasters are now in the Class AA Texas League including current Midland RockHounds play-by-play voice Bob Hards (1990-91) and San Antonio Missions announcer Stu Paul (1992).
