Fan Fest Returns to Bowling Green Ballpark on Saturday, March 21
Bowling Green, Ky. - The grass and infield dirt have finally prevailed past the remaining snow from last month's storms, and the Bowling Green Hot Rods (Class-A/Tampa Bay Rays) are thrilled to bid farewell to Winter and welcome Spring with the return of Fan Fest on Saturday, March 21 at Bowling Green Ballpark. The event is free and open to the general public, with season ticket holders being welcomed to a special event from 10 a.m.-11 a.m., while the public portion of Fan Fast will run from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Single-game tickets going on sale, a television giveaway, and the new playground highlight the event.
"We're excited to once again open the outdoor portion of the ballpark back up, and hopefully push out this feeling of a lingering winter," said Hot Rods Chief Operating Officer and General Manager Adam Nuse. "We just released our promotional schedule with a whole bunch of exciting dates, so fans will have the chance to purchase single-game tickets to those events for the first time at Fan Fest. You add in the TV giveaway, our new playground, and a chance to play catch on the field, and this is surely a can't-miss Spring event here in South-Central Kentucky."
Season-ticket holders will be able to pick up their ticket packages beginning at 10 a.m. at the ballpark, and they also can see the brand new playground that is in place next to the right-field foul pole. The gates formally open to the public at 11 a.m., and tickets to all 70 games at Bowling Green Ballpark will go on sale. Fans will also have the opportunity to purchase money-saving ticket packages, and even pick out their prospective seat, pending availability. Seats that do not have season-ticket holders will be graced with balloons, and folks are encouraged to sit and enjoy the view.
What better way to welcome Spring back than a game of catch? The outfield will be opened up so fans can play catch on the grass. Families can also have their picture taken on the field to provide that first digital memory of warmer weather in 2015. One lucky fan will walk away with a brand new television thanks to McGown Television in Bowling Green. Folks who enter the free drawing must be present in order to claim their 32-inch prize. The Body Shop will be open for those fans needing to update their warm-weather gear.
Baseball returns to Bowling Green Ballpark in just three weeks, when the Western Kentucky Hilltoppers will host the University of Kentucky in a college matchup. WKU take the BGBP field again on Tuesday, April 7 when they take on the Hot Rods in an exhibition contest.
